Bhargavi was not happy with shankaran and kept him away from her . The village had heard several rumours that she would pick men of her choice to satisfy her desires and then discard them at her leisure . Shankaran was deaf to such rumours and kept to himself. Bargavi’s money, power and henchmen were feared by all in the village.
It was known in the village that Bhargavi had two brothers Keshavan and Madhavan, the whereabouts of both were unknown for around 16 years now. This remained a rumour.
Bhargavi had the largest cardamom plantation in Kadamat to her name. She was also the sole owner of 10 small and big boats and the copra plantation of the family. Achutan looked after the family business .
